Orogeny

Orogeny

Orogeny is a large-scale woven tapestry—measuring nine by seven feet—created for a private client in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

This piece is a meditation on pressure, time, and transformation. Like mountains forged in the slow collision of continents, Orogeny holds the quiet force of becoming—stone rising from softness, form shaped by unseen tensions.

Woven to resemble ancient rock, the work plays with contrasts: textile and terrain, delicacy and density, the human hand and the geologic scale. Each thread is a layer, each texture a memory—echoing the way the Earth folds and lifts itself into being.

All shipments are FOB origin, with shipping charges billed separately. Due to the value of the artwork, a signature is required upon delivery.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please handle with care. Rebecca's work is designed to be a decorative wall hanging only, not to be used as rugs or regularly handled. Avoid moisture except to gently steam the fringe if necessary shortly after installation. Use clean hands to comb through fringe or straighten strings at the top, careful to avoid snagging fibers. No maintenance cleaning is necessary besides gently dusting with a feather dusty as needed.

NOTES

While color representation is made as accurate as possible, please note that hues may vary from monitor to monitor. If you are commissioning a custom piece, samples of the materials can be sent free of charge for you to handle and compare in person.

"Soulful, bespoke work"

"Working with Rebecca was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. She intuitively understood our vision and translated it into something even more beautiful than we imagined. From the initial sketches and thoughtfully curated material bundles to the steady progress updates along the way, the process felt collaborative, intentional, and deeply considered.Every detail was handled with care--from packaging and shipping to installation instructions, which were seamless and stress-free. She even included a handwritten story about the piece, its name, and what it represented artistically. It gave our clients a meaningful connection to the work and made the installation feel personal rather than transactional. This piece is truly one of a kind, and so is the artist behind it. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for soulful, bespoke work that tells a story."
