CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please handle with care. Rebecca's work is designed to be a decorative wall hanging only, not to be used as rugs or regularly handled. Avoid moisture except to gently steam the fringe if necessary shortly after installation. Use clean hands to comb through fringe or straighten strings at the top, careful to avoid snagging fibers. No maintenance cleaning is necessary besides gently dusting with a feather dusty as needed.

NOTES

While color representation is made as accurate as possible, please note that hues may vary from monitor to monitor. If you are commissioning a custom piece, samples of the materials can be sent free of charge for you to handle and compare in person.

"Arroyo of the Infinite Well" is a custom wall hanging is privately commissioned and now hangs in Florida. Though the original has sold, a similar piece can be recreated with any adjustments to the size or color palette necessary.

The original piece includes materials such as linen, cotton, hemp, wool, and recycled silk and measures 8 feet wide, 10 feet tall. The texture of this piece stands out almost 3 inches from the wall, creating depth and visual interest unlike typical tapestries.

THIS IS A MADE TO ORDER PIECE. Adjustments to the color palette and design can be made upon request. While my aim in the recreation of a piece is to follow the original design as closely as possible, I also allow for the subtle nuances and one-of-a-kind qualities that arise from the intuitive nature of weaving.

Please message me for updated lead times, which typically fluctuate between 3-6 months. Pricing may adjust slightly due to the current cost of materials and work load, so please message me with commission requests, or fill out the form on my website at https://rebeccawhitakerart.com/pages/commission

Arroyo of the Infinite Well

Arroyo of the Infinite Well speaks to the quiet strength of becoming an open vessel—one shaped by trust, by surrender, and by deep knowing. An arroyo is a dry riverbed, sculpted by the memory of water and the promise of its return. Though it may appear empty, it holds the shape of flow, the evidence of movement, and the possibility of replenishment.

This piece emerged through a leap of faith—choosing to follow an untested idea, letting go of certainty, and allowing intuition to guide the process. It mirrors a personal shift into a more fluid, feminine way of being: one that listens before speaking, waits before rushing, and trusts the unseen cycles. Arroyo of the Infinite Well is not about thirst or lack, but about the sacred patience of holding space for what's coming. The well is infinite. The water is already on its way.
