After the Rain

After the Rain

Commissioned by a private collector in North Muskegon, Michigan, After the Rain is a one-of-a-kind fiber piece inspired by the hush that follows a storm. Woven entirely by hand and suspended from a natural eucalyptus branch, this tapestry holds the kind of quiet presence that follows a passing storm: textured, grounded, and full of breath.

Its soft, neutral palette, anchored by slate blue, flecks of rust, and delicate traces of green, is paired with richly knotted textures, inviting a tactile, contemplative experience. Both sculptural and subtle, this work reflects a connection to landscape, weather, and emotional resonance through fiber.

If you’re interested in commissioning a similar piece, I’d love to connect.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please handle with care. Rebecca's work is designed to be a decorative wall hanging only, not to be used as rugs or regularly handled. Avoid moisture except to gently steam the fringe if necessary shortly after installation. Use clean hands to comb through fringe or straighten strings at the top, careful to avoid snagging fibers. No maintenance cleaning is necessary besides gently dusting with a feather dusty as needed.

NOTES

While color representation is made as accurate as possible, please note that hues may vary from monitor to monitor. If you are commissioning a custom piece, samples of the materials can be sent free of charge for you to handle and compare in person.

Thoughtful Process, Beautiful Result

We commissioned Rebecca to create a wall hanging for a client who fell in love with a piece she saw on Rebecca’s Instagram account. We (and the client) couldn’t be happier with the final product!
Rebecca was easy to communicate with. I explained what we were looking for and shared with her the materials we were using in the home. She sent me her inspo, sketches of her vision, her intended color palette and photos of the fibers/materials that she was intending to use.
Once all was approved by the client, Rebecca sent me progress photos along the way. It was fun to watch the progress. In the end, she nailed it! Rebecca was wonderful to work with and her wall hangings are absolutely beautiful!
