A Community for Life

A Community for Life

This large-scale woven wall hanging was commissioned for the City of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and is inspired by the region’s unique landscape. Soft blues echo the area’s lakes, while warm earth tones and organic textures suggest its fields, trails, and wooded spaces. Abstract and map-inspired, the piece invites viewers to experience a sense of place—both grounded in the land and open to interpretation.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please handle with care. Rebecca's work is designed to be a decorative wall hanging only, not to be used as rugs or regularly handled. Avoid moisture except to gently steam the fringe if necessary shortly after installation. Use clean hands to comb through fringe or straighten strings at the top, careful to avoid snagging fibers. No maintenance cleaning is necessary besides gently dusting with a feather dusty as needed.

NOTES

While color representation is made as accurate as possible, please note that hues may vary from monitor to monitor. If you are commissioning a custom piece, samples of the materials can be sent free of charge for you to handle and compare in person.

"Focal point of the space"

Working together on a custom woven piece was a thoughtful and collaborative process from start to finish. Rebecca took the time to understand the story, setting, and intent behind the work, translating that into something both meaningful and beautiful. The piece has become the focal point of the main lobby and people are genuinely excited to recognize it as a map of Chanhassen and to identify familiar landmarks. They love how the textures and colors contrast with and complement the building's wood and glass, helping tie the entire space together.Rebecca was an exceptional partner throughout the project. She is a clear and thoughtful communicator, highly responsive, and proactive at every stage of the process. She welcomed feedback, incorporated it seamlessly, and consistently met deadlines, making the entire experience smooth, professional, and enjoyable. On a personal note, I love the piece so much. I’ve never had the opportunity to commission artwork, and I’m so pleased with how it turned out and how much people love it. Thank you for being part of our project!
